About Us

Our Approach

When facing a problem, most people jump to a solution, and then take that to their users. Our approach is the opposite: we first go to those experiencing the problem, define the root cause, learn how to best meet their needs, and make prototypes to test opportunities.

We seek to be inclusive while delivering a rapid-cycle process of design and strategy to improve the lives of the communities we serve. Innovation is needed now more than ever, and we believe that caring for our communities is a key to systemic improvement.

Our History & Team

The St. Joseph’s Health Center for Innovation at St. Joseph’s Health (SJH) was established through a grant from the Nicholson Foundation in 2019. The Innovation Lab, or INLAB, is a multi-disciplinary group focused on improving systems through better healthcare.

Learn more about our history through our final Nicholson Report.
